COACHING

 

Overview

 

We offer online coaching to clients around the world. The key principle to our coaching is to get to know you as well as possible and to create a rapport. We tailor and adjust your training to the specifics of your life and goals, without using a cookie-cutter approach. The main benefits come from our expert advise and guidance, not just the training sessions created for you.

 

Our methodology is based on the training methods of Professor Tim Noakes, Arthur Lydiard and Pete Pfitzinger, amongst others. These have been adapted for ultrarunning and combined with knowledge from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (“NASM”) and USA Track & Field ("USATF"). We provide one-on-one coaching for endurance athletes in running events or obstacle/adventure races based anywhere in the world. Whether you're new to running or want to improve from your existing level of fitness, we can tailor a program to fit your needs. 

 

Our coaches' experience combines with an extensive study of endurance training, helping you to achieve more than you thought possible and enjoy it more too. As Ian says, "I still remember my first race, a half marathon in 2005, where I was very much in the middle of the pack. Running has brought me so many incredible experiences since then and I love to help others achieve what they never thought was possible."

 

How does the coaching work?

 

We provide a tried-and-tested methodology which hundreds of runners have already benefited from. This allows you to take on bigger challenges while reducing your chance of injury in training and racing. We achieve this through one-on-one coaching with a training plan based on getting to know you, made to fit in with your life-style and to maximize the benefit of each training session. There are four tiers of coaching based on the amount of contact you require and budget - see below. 

 

Whichever coach you choose (subject to availability), the methodology is the same. Our coaches are continuously learning and improving their knowledge, always challenging conventional wisdom and open to new findings. 

 

Other coaching services and options are potentially available on request.

 

The aim is to give you the maximum benefit from your training sessions

and to coach you through any difficulties so you can be as successful

as possible, however you define success.

TIER 1

Tier 1 coaching includes Skype or phone calls once per month with one email per week to maintain a conversation and answer your questions while providing feedback. Your plan will be altered whenever needed to change your focus or goals because life can get in the way of the best laid plans and flexibility is the key.

 

- Flexible training plan based on detailed discussions.

- Monthly Skype/phone call (12 per year) and one weekly email.

- Discount codes on running gear.

 

WE CAN ONLY OFFER THIS FOR EXISTING CLIENTS TO SWITCH TO, WHO NEED LESS HANDS-ON COACHING AND WHO HAVE A LOW INCIDENCE OF INJURIES.

 

Pricing:

- Set up cost of $199, including initial questionnaire, discussions and creating your very individual, flexible training plan.

- Monthly cost of $228 (Ian) or $214 (Magda) or $205 (Zach) or $182 (Ellie or Matt) or $178 (Liza) or $164 (Sean) when pre-paying for six months.

- 10% more per month for a monthly subscription.

Tier 2 coaching includes more frequent contact. 

 

- Flexible training plan based on detailed discussions.

- Skype/phone call every 4 weeks (13 per year) and up to three weekly emails.

- Discount codes on running gear.

 

Pricing

- Set up cost of $199, including initial questionnaire, discussions and creating your very individual, flexible training plan.

- Monthly cost of $260 (Ian) or $246 (Magda) or$237 (Zach) or $205 (Ellie or Matt) or $201 (Liza) or $187 (Sean) when pre-paying for six months.

- 10% more per month for a monthly subscription.

- 10% more per month for a monthly subscription.

Tier 4 coaching includes unlimited Skype or phone calls and emails.

 

- Flexible training plan based on detailed discussions.

- Unlimited contact via Skype/phone/email.

Pricing

- Monthly cost of $478 (Ian) or $464 (Magda) or $450 (Zach) or $396 (Ellie or Matt) or $387 (Liza) or $360 (Sean) when pre-paying for six months.

- 10% more per month for a monthly subscription.

Refund Policy

 

We don't offer refunds but clients can choose to pay month-by-month. The discount for pre-paying for six months or longer is for committing to that longer period.

 

However, if you get an injury and need one month or more off from coaching then we can pause all coaching and correspondence and you can restart again when you wish, up to one year later.
